Subtask independence and evaluation process

Dear organizers,
We have a few questions regarding the selection of the winning submissions:

  • are the two tasks completely independent from each other, i.e. will you have (possibly different) winners for each task?
  • if not, how will you select the overall winners? By averaging the scores of both tasks?
  • are teams obliged to submit to both tasks or can we just submit to one of them?

Regarding the captioning task, is it mandatory to use the concepts from the first task?

Hello!

  • The tasks are independent from each other, so there could be different teams winning each one
  • You do not have to submit to both tasks
  • It is not mandatory to use the concepts for the second task
