Am i right that we can estimate the distance from sensor to aircraft as time_from_aircraft_to_sensot*c, where c is the speed of the light? or not

I usually assume that it is a good estimator.
In my opinion, second-order effects (such as tropospheric effect) can be neglected in firsts implementations - but it depends on the leader board
