Hi organizers and fellow participants,
I’m interested in this challenge but noticed several concerning details in the documentation that need clarification:
- INFRASTRUCTURE NOT FINALIZED The rules state “Details regarding the submission process…will be added once the technical infrastructure has been finalized.” Round 1 closes December 31st - that’s only 15 days away. When will the submission system be ready? Will the deadline be extended?
- SUBMISSION LIMITS UNDEFINED Rules say “up to 5/10 TBD entries per day” - which is it? This is a fundamental parameter that affects development strategy.
- INCONSISTENT NAMING Overview page calls it “Global Chess Challenge” while Rules page says “AWS Trainium Challenge 2025” - are these the same competition?
- VAGUE CREDIT ALLOCATION AWS credits are allocated “at the Organizer’s discretion based on availability and demonstrated need.” What’s the baseline allocation? What criteria define “demonstrated need”? This could create an uneven playing field.
- NO WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT DATE Rules state “Winners Announced: TBD” - what’s the expected timeline?
Could organizers please provide:
- Timeline for infrastructure finalization
- Clarification on all TBD items
- Transparency on AWS credit allocations
- Updated, consistent documentation
- Also I see a lot of unanswered queries in this discussion regarding the challenge
To fellow participants: if you share these concerns, please comment so organizers can see there’s broader interest in clarity.
