Not able to ssh to gitlab

I follow the steps in https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/ssh/README.html#requirements, but I am stuck with:
nofreewill42@gitlab.com: Permission denied (publickey).

I even tried to connect with ssh -T git@nofreewill42(.com), as the tutorial suggests: “(replacing gitlab.com with your GitLab’s instance domain):”

I also tried with generating rsa keys w/ and w/o -o and deleting key in my gitlab settings SSH keys section and creating the newly generated one.
Tried creating keys w/&w/o the -C comment with my e-mail.

Nothing seems to work, I have no idea what is happening. I always get this permission denied message.

nofreewill42@gitlab. com: Permission denied (publickey).

Can you try running ssh -T git@gitlab.com after adding your generated key to your gitlab account ? Steps are here

git@gitlab.com: Permission denied (publickey).

With rsa and also with ed25519 keys.

I haven’t changed anything.
I just created an ed25519 key again according to the page: https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/ssh/README.html#generating-a-new-ssh-key-pair

I then have gone to gitlab.com, logged in with my github account, added the key and now I have:

Anyways, your comment on logging with git@gitlab. com helped. Thanks for that.
I don’t understand why the docs says in paranthesis that:
(replacing gitlab. com with your GitLab’s instance domain):

Hi @nofreewill42,

For making submissions for the challenge you need to use gitlab.aicrowd.com and not gitlab.com. I guess there has been confusion regarding the same above.

The steps will be as follows:

  1. Add your SSH key in your account https://gitlab.aicrowd.com/profile/keys
  2. Login and start using git repository via gitlab.aicrowd.com domain.

Indeed, gitlab.com says that the key was created 2 hours ago.
And gitlab.aicrowd.com says that the key was used 2 hours ago, although I didn’t touch it since I gave up two days ago.
I don’t know what happened since, but it works now.

Great, I believe you would have followed steps in starter kit or baseline which make you push codebase to gitlab.aicrowd.com (by changing remote), and you ended up correctly on gitlab.aicrowd.com.

Happy that things are working on your end now, excited to see yours submissions into the challenge and leaderboard! :muscle:
