I do not understand the metrics defining leaderboard

I have a score 1.0 in sound prediction challenge still the leaderboard shows no change…
I previously had a score of 0.56 which brings me to this enigma.
Please do give an explanation on how leaderboard works.

Hi, It is due to one of your previous submissions has a score of 0.561 which is lower than 1.0. In order to change the leaderboard, you have to get a score that is lower than your current lowest score.

Also we are using word error rate as our evaluation metric for this competition, in which the lower the score is, the better.
